With the help of the application «Mobile Bank Vostok» users will have an opportunity for one-touch pay from the smartphone with Mastercard cards and confirm purchases with fingerprints.

The penetration level of smartphones in Ukraine is 44%, and already in 2020 experts predict a figure of 71%. Mobile payment solutions become especially important for Ukrainians. Therefore Bank Vostok and Mastercard presented a new digital contactless wallet on the platform Mastercard Enablement Digital Service (MDES) in Ukraine. Users will be able to calculate one-touch at physical sales outlets and in the capital's transportation using a smartphone – on POS terminals that support the technology of contactless payment Mastercard. The wallet is integrated into the updated version of the mobile banking application «Mobile Bank Vostok», which is already available for downloading and installing to users of smartphones with the Android operating system KitKat 4.4 and above supporting NFC technology.

In our work we first of all pay attention to innovative and reliable solutions – our mobile application recently appeared, and today the bank offers the possibility of quick and contactless payments using a smartphone and NFC technology», — comments  Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bank Vostok Vadim Morokhovsky.

The user is authorized in the application by entering the mobile number and password. All payment cards that are assigned to this mobile number are already in the application. There is no need to enter additional card data – just activate the wallet in the application.

In order to make payment, the user needs to unlock the smartphone and click "Pay". After that, entering the password and selecting the card, you need to bring the phone to the terminal – and payment is made. For payments via NFC-wallet all Mastercard cards from Bank Vostok are available, except for the card "Vlasny rakhunok" with a payment function – it can be added and used for payments from a smartphone in the near future.

In addition to authorization by access code, users whose smartphone supports TouchID technology will be able to confirm entry to the application and payment using a fingerprint. You can pay with NFC even if you do not have an Internet connection, because the MDES platform stores special backup token codes for payment.

The solution operates on the global digital tokenization platform Mastercard Enablement Digital Service (MDES). The platform, which was introduced in 2013, allows you to turn any device with an Internet connection into a secure payment tool. Today, with MDES in the world, there are companies like Apple, Samsung and Google. To pay with the solution on MDES, a unique token is created, the use of which provides the maximum level of protection for the payment transactions.
